Weight care, connected to the rest of your health.

Dr. Mark Hilmy provides individualized weight and metabolic care within ongoing primary care, with a plan shaped around your health, history and goals.

Weight care that considers the whole picture.

Weight can influence blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep, mobility, long term health, confidence, and psychological well-being.

Who may benefit

Adults concerned about overweight, obesity or related metabolic health issues can discuss whether a medical evaluation is appropriate. Common reasons to begin include:

  • Changes in blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol or other metabolic markers
  • Weight affecting energy, sleep, mobility or daily function
  • Prior efforts that produced limited or temporary results
  • Questions about whether medication should be part of care

Evaluation does not guarantee medication or a specific treatment plan.

What the evaluation may include

Care begins with a clinical assessment of the whole picture: health history, current conditions, medications and prior approaches, alongside weight history, goals, nutrition, activity, sleep and daily routines.

It also includes a physical examination and relevant laboratory testing, with optional outside body-composition assessment when it would improve decision-making.

Dr. Hilmy discusses treatment options, benefits, risks, costs and realistic expectations before care begins.

Testing and recommendations are individualized. Not every patient needs every service.

Care that evolves with you.

Understand

Care begins with a clinical evaluation of health history, current conditions, medications, prior approaches, weight history, nutrition, activity and sleep, along with examination and relevant testing.

Plan

Dr. Hilmy builds an individualized plan that may combine practical nutrition and activity guidance, attention to sleep and behavior, management of related health conditions, targeted testing and medication when appropriate. Medication is never automatic.

Review and adjust

Follow-up and maintenance remain individualized, including after a patient reaches a target weight. Monitoring is guided by safety and clinical need, and may include selective laboratory testing, glucose data or periodic body-composition assessment. Established members who reside in Washington may use telehealth for follow-up when clinically appropriate.

How medication decisions are made

Medication may be considered as one clinical tool, including GLP-type medications or other options when appropriate. Prescribing depends on medical history, potential benefits and risks, current evidence, access and safe monitoring. Medication is never automatic, and treatment does not end when a patient reaches a target weight.

Included in membership

Medical weight management is included within the standard $125 per month Hilmy Health membership. It is not a separate monthly program.

Billed separately

Medications, laboratory work, glucose-monitoring devices, DEXA scans and other outside services are billed separately.

Selected routine labs and generic medications may be available at the practice's acquisition cost plus a small supply charge; availability and pricing vary.

What patients ask

Do I need to join a separate weight-loss program?

No. Evaluation and treatment of weight and metabolic-health concerns are included within the standard Hilmy Health membership.

Does every patient receive a GLP-type medication?

No. Medication is considered only when Dr. Hilmy determines that it is clinically appropriate. Some patients may benefit from other medications or a plan that does not include medication.

What happens after I reach my target weight?

Care shifts toward an individualized maintenance plan. Follow-up, medication decisions and monitoring depend on your health, response and long-term needs.

Are medications, labs and DEXA scans included in the monthly fee?

No. These are separate expenses. Hilmy Health will explain recommended services and known costs before they are ordered whenever possible.
